David M. Weisbrod, Vice-President and Director of Development at White Realty in Union, NJ, has been chosen by the Greater Union County Association of Realtors as their 2002 Realtor of the Year. This is the second time in three years that someone from the 52-year old firm of White Realty has been accorded this honor; broker Joan White was named Realtor of the Year in 2000. Weisbrod has also just been picked as the Board’s President-Elect.

With 21 years in real estate under his belt, Weisbrod is known as one of the most vivacious and generous Realtors in the business. His keen sense of humor and forthright professional manner have earned him respect both in business and the general community. His many volunteer activities include instructor of ethics for the Realtor Board, a founding trustee for the Township of Union Education foundation, and a member of the Mayor’s Advisory Council. Weisbrod is also the beloved head coach of the Red Storm in the Rebels Softball League in Union, leading the kids to their first championship season this year, teaching them not only the game of softball, but also the game of life.

A strong believer in education, David Weisbrod has been involved for the past six years in White Realty’s program of finding and fixing older computers and placing them in classrooms within the Union school system, often using his personal funds to purchase updated replacement parts for the older computers. He is often behind-the-scenes in many fund-raising efforts and in providing service to Union’s teachers.

Weisbrod’s dedication to education extends to himself as well. He holds many real estate designations: Graduate, REALTOR Institute(GRI), the CRS designation (Certified Real Estate Specialist) and the CRB designation Real Estate (Certified Real Estate Brokerage manager). He was among the first 500 Realtors in the nation to earn the e-PRO 500 Internet certification from the National Association of Realtors, testament to his commitment to new technology. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Hotel Management, and went on to obtain five post-graduate certifications at four different European Culinary and Hotel schools, including the LaVarenne in Paris, France and the German Wine Academy in Kloster Eberbach, Germany.

Weisbrod holds a real estate broker’s license in both the state of New Jersey and the state of Florida. As a highly successful salesagent, he attained membership in the New Jersey Association of Realtors Million Dollar Club for many years.

The Realtor of the Year award highlighted Weisbrod’s "unselfish devotion to all those he meets in life - whether a fellow Realtor, a neighbor, a friend, or a child on his team, he is always ready to help".

A 22-year resident of Union, Weisbrod is married with one son.
